for once-weekly dosing.
The PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN® is the first
and only pen delivery system approved for administering pegylated interferon therapy
for chronic hepatitis C an easy-to-use alternative to traditional vial

the dose you should take, and its innovative design allows you to inject yourself

Wondering About | The
fact: | | Using
the PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN® instead of traditional vial and syringe: |
80% of patients surveyed
said that the PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN® gives them the features they want
in an injection system.1 However, if you're currently being treated
with the PEG-INTRON® vial and syringe, you should check with your doctor to make
sure the switch is right for you. The
PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN® is designed to be more patient-friendly than a traditional
syringe, with advanced features such as an easy-to-read dosing button for precise,
weight-based dosing of PEG-INTRON®, a self-priming action that automatically
removes air bubbles from the pen, and the smallest needle size (30-gauge) available
to help minimize discomfort. |
| The accuracy
of my dosage: | You
can rest assured that you are injecting the correct amount of medication by using
the PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN®. During administration, you simply "dial" your prescribed
dose by turning the dosing button until the dose number aligns with the dosing
tab's solid line. Then, during the delivery process, you depress the dosing button
completely and hold for five seconds. The five-second period ensures that you
have injected the proper amount of medication. |
| Storing
the PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN®: |
Always store the PEG-INTRON®
REDIPEN® in your refrigerator. When you are ready to take your PEG-INTRON® medication,
you should allow time for it to reach room temperature before administration.
Your health care provider will go over this process with you before you use the
PEG-INTRON® REDIPEN® for the first time. |
