SUMMARY:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The
CDC has updated its Basic
Statistics web page to reflect information from the 2009
HIV Surveillance Report: Diagnoses of HIV infection and AIDS
in the United States and Dependent Areas, according to
the agency's e-Hap email newsletter.
The
Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) has updated several of its
resources, incorporating the CDC's new surveillance data and
information from other sources, the organization announced
last week.
These include a fact sheet on the U.S. epidemic that provides
the latest national statistics, trends, and data on the impact
of HIV across the country, as well as separate fact sheets
examining the epidemic's impact on African-Americans, Latinos
and women. These fact sheets can be found at http://www.kff.org/hivaids/factsheets.cfm.
In
addition, updated state-level data on new AIDS diagnoses,
the number of people living with AIDS, deaths due to AIDS,
and other topics, are now available on www.statehealthfacts.org.
The new data has also been incorporated into an HIV/AIDS slide
set available through Kaiser Fast Facts at http://facts.kff.org.
