Learning Objectives
Identify key clinical factors which should be considered in the selection of the patient's initial antiretroviral treatment regimen.
Recognize and utilize strategies for managing the metabolic effects of antiretroviral therapy including dyslipidemia and insulin resistance, diabetes, and resultant cardiovascular risks.

Highlight the basic pharmacokinetic principles involved in the management of antiretroviral therapy, and how to appropriately manage HIV patients on antiretroviral therapy with attention to pharmacokinetics.
